Freestyle Weaving on the Rigid Heddle Loom with Pam Rensberger (Saturday afternoon)

Are you in the mood for adventure? Do you love texture and color? Let’s freestyle!

In this class you will bring a warped rigid heddle to class ready to weave. We will be making samples of multiple weaving techniques using textured yarns, locks, and other fibers. I will provide yarns, roving, locks, and texture for you to play with. If you have an interesting fiber, knitting yarns or other items you would like to sample with or share, please feel free to bring your own. These techniques will work best on an 8 or 10-dent reed but if you only have a 12-dent reed, please bring your loom warped with that.

 

Materials to bring to workshop:
A warped rigid heddle loom ready to weave
Scissors
Pick up sticks
Stick shuttles
Notebook and pencil/pen

About your instructor: Pam Rensberger is a retired ER RN who is now a shepherd, spinner, weaver, dyer, and sometime knitter. She has a flock of long wool sheep which provide her with her fiber to work with. She has been raising sheep and working with their wool for over 10 years. She enjoys demonstrating and teaching fiber arts.
