Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll explore the art of eco-printing, also known as botanical printing. In this session, you’ll learn how to use natural dye plants and flower petals to create vibrant patterns on fabric. Through rolling, binding, and steaming techniques, you will design and print a one-of-a-kind cotton bandana to take home.
Eco-printing is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to produce unique and beautiful textiles. This workshop provides all the necessary materials, and space is limited to 10 participants to ensure an intimate and personalized experience.
Workshop fee: $60 (includes all supplies)
Friday afternoon, 1 PM to 4 PM
Class size: 3 to 10 students
About your instructor:
Kate is a fiber artist who specializes in natural dyes and sustainable practices. She creates wall hangings, bandanas, silk scarves, and fabric collages. She went to art school and received a BFA and MFA degree from Indiana University. Over the past six years or so, she has taken professional development workshops in natural dye techniques and has studied with internationally known artists; including Roland Ricketts, Michael Garcia, Catherine Ellis, Kathy Hattori, and Joan Morris.
