Rug Hook a Mug Rug with Pam Hanshew (Saturday afternoon)

In this class, student will make circular mug rugs. The mug rug pattern is drawn on monks cloth. You will hook a circular mug rug with pattern choices based on pumpkins and snowmen. Patterns faces will vary based on student preferences. The kit will include your pattern on monks cloth. An assortment of wool in seasonally specific colors will be available, as well as a choice of backing fabric for your completed mug rugs, a large eye tapestry needle to sew the backing to your rug, and a mug rug caddy. Thread will be available to sew backing fabric. All the caddy’s will be varied and available on a first come first served basis relative to your choice. Completed mug rugs will be steamed in class. A demonstration of steaming your finished project will be shown. Finished size approximately 5 inches.

Students will be taught hooking, embellishment, and finishing techniques. Frames will be provided if students don’t have one. This is a beginner to advanced Traditional Rug Hooking class. All skill levels — beginner to advanced hookers — are all welcome!
