Weaving with Art Yarn

Ready to take your weaving to the next level? In this hands-on class, you’ll work with my handspun chunky art yarn to create a one-of-a-kind round weaving full of texture and personality. Learn the tips and tricks for weaving with thick, expressive fibers, explore two or more weaving stitches, and experiment with color and texture in a relaxed, welcoming environment. You’ll get to choose your own handspun  yarn from a curated selection, and by the end of class you’ll leave with a finished 10″ round weaving that’s as unique as you are. Perfect for adventurous beginners and fiber lovers alike—no prior experience required, just a love of color and creativity!

Artist Bio: I am an artist from Terre Haute Indiana. I am married to my husband Paul and have a 7 year old son named Harrison (Harry for short); and a 3 year old named Rosemary (Rosie)!

I received my Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Studio Art from Indiana State University in 2014. Shortly after I received my Master of Fine Art degree in Sculpture from the Herron School of Art and Design in 2017 and have worked as a professor of art at Herron, ISU, and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Most recently I was the Director of Education at the Swope Art Museum before transferring over to Program Coordinator at the Community School of the Arts at ISU! My work has been featured in over 45 galleries across 12 cities and 5 states, and in Fiber Art Now magazine. I was also the current visiting artist at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum for 2024/2025!

I am passionate about creating sculpture specifically in steel and fiber, but my body of work is comprised of a variety of mediums and processes.
