Intro to Rigid Heddle Weaving with Pam Rensenberger (Friday afternoon)

Do you have a rigid heddle loom sitting in your closet that you do not know what to do with? Are you exploring the idea of weaving?

Rigid heddle looms are a versatile loom that fits the needs of many weavers. They can be used for many different styles of weaving. They take up little space and are easy to store.

In this class you will warp and start weaving on your rigid heddle loom. Various techniques for warping will be discussed. We will go over reading a rigid heddle draft and learning about take-up and draw-in. I will provide cotton for your warp as well as different weft fibers to practice with.

Materials to bring to workshop:
A rigid heddle loom
An 8, 10, or 12 dent reed
Brown paper the width of your reed to warp with about 3 yards
