Demonstrations & Special Events

Throughout the weekend, visitors can watch traditional fiber demonstrations, explore fleece from regional farms, and participate in hands-on activities celebrating wool and the fiber arts. Many of these events are free and open to all festival guests.

Sheep to Shawl Demonstration

Saturday

Watch fiber artists transform raw fleece into a finished shawl in just a few hours. Beginning with freshly shorn wool, participants will spin yarn and weave it into a beautiful garment before your eyes.

Sheep Shearing Demonstration

Friday & Saturday

See how wool is removed from sheep during a live shearing demonstration. Visitors can observe the process and learn how fleece becomes fiber for spinning and weaving.

Help create a collaborative textile during the festival.

Visitors are invited to add yarn, roving, or fiber to a large upright loom and contribute to a shared community tapestry.

No weaving experience necessary.

Bring yarn you no longer need and discover something new for your next project.

Visitors are invited to leave yarn and take yarn throughout the festival. Please bring clean, usable yarn to share.
