Volunteer at the Festival
The Bloomington Wool & Fiber Festival is made possible by a wonderful community of volunteers. If you enjoy fiber arts and would like to help welcome visitors, assist with workshops, or support the festival in other ways, please fill out our volunteer application form!
Confirmed volunteers will receive $20 in Lamb’s Loot — four $5 coupons — to spend with participating Festival vendors. Lamb’s Loot is reserved for volunteers who fulfill their assigned volunteer commitment.
Volunteer Opportunities
Festival Setup
Help arrange signs, tables, workshop spaces and other Festival areas on Thursday afternoon. Some lifting and walking may be involved.
Welcome Table and Admissions
Greet visitors, answer basic questions, distribute programs and help at the entrance. Seated positions may be available.
Workshop Check-In and Classroom Help
Check participants in, direct them to the correct room and provide simple assistance to instructors before and after classes.
Vendor Assistance
Help vendors locate their spaces, carry light items or find the Festival organizer when they need assistance. During the Festival, “booth buddies” may watch a vendor’s booth while the vendor leaves for a short period of time.
Silent Auction
Keep the auction area organized, answer basic questions and help monitor bid sheets. This can be a seated assignment.
Community Tapestry Weaving
Welcome visitors to the community weaving activity and show them how to add a small section to the tapestry.
General Festival Helper
Fill in wherever help is most needed, including directing visitors, delivering messages and giving volunteers short breaks.
Festival Cleanup
Help collect signs and supplies and straighten Festival areas after the show closes Saturday afternoon. Cleanup volunteers may collect their Lamb’s Loot earlier in the day.
