Artist’s Bio: Maranda Weathermon is a Midwest-based shepherdess and professional shearer dedicated to sustainable agriculture and heritage wool preservation. On her family farm, she raises CVM, BFL, and Shetland sheep, producing high-quality fiber for the arts.
Beyond the farm, Maranda travels across Missouri and Arkansas providing expert shearing services for sheep, goats, and camelids. She is a passionate advocate for “rescued wool,” repurposing discarded fibers into handspun yarn, felting, and ceramics. A skilled educator, Maranda leads workshops on fiber arts and small-scale flock management, helping homesteaders and enthusiasts turn raw wool into functional art.
