Learn the foundations of brioche knitting in a focused, three-hour workshop with internationally recognized brioche instructor Jenn Lampen. Designed for knitters new to brioche, this small-group class provides expert guidance as you learn the essential stitches, understand brioche structure, and begin working confidently with the technique. You will leave the workshop with the knowledge to knit basic brioche projects, tips and tricks to help you avoid common pitfalls, and the start of your first brioche cowl.

Saturday morning, 9 AM to 12 NOON
Workshop fee: $60
Materials fee: none

Required skills: Students must be comfortable with basic knitting skills such as knitting, purling, knitting in the round, k2tog, yo, and slipping stitches.

Students to bring: Two skeins of DK or worsted weight yarn in contrasting colors, solid or semisolid colors recommended, 16-in US7/4.5mm circular needles or size appropriate for your yarn, stitch marker.

 

Artist’s Bio: Jenn Lampen is an avid knitter, knitting instructor and knitwear designer, publishing under the name Synaptic Stitches which comes from a combination of her background in neuroscience and her love of creating designs that keep your brain engaged and always teach you something new. She loves creating brioche designs and coming up with new ways to combine stitches, colors, and techniques. She is an advocate of fearless knitting and believes that any knitter can knit any pattern with a bit of patience and the right resources. She is passionate about supporting knitters in taking on new challenges and learning new skills.
